Stretches

Overhead Rotator with Stretch Stick

This dynamic stretch for the chest, shoulder and bicep muscles is an excellent way to establish proper shoulder function. Start by holding stick (approximately 5' long) with an open hand grip and elbows straight. Grip should start wide and gradually narrow as flexibility increases. Slowly rotate stick overhead keeping chin up, lower back arched, abdominals drawn in, and squeezing shoulder blades. Note: Grip should stay open throughout stretch and if elbows bend during stretch, trying increasing width.
