Seated D.B. Press


Primarily for the anterior (front) of the shoulders, the overhead press builds strength and size. In this particular version, using dumbbells maintains balance in each side. Also, unlike barbells or machines, dumbbells have the advantage of allowing the shoulder to use a more natural range of motion. If you are using a barbell or a machine, your shoulders cannot work independently so the pathway used in the motion is pre-determined. While a seat with a back pad is not necessary, it does make the motion easier to perform.
