Hack squats machines typically have the user at a 45 degree angle to the ground or parallel to the ground. It is important when squatting to keep your toes high on the platform. This keeps your knees behind your toes during motion and minimizes sheering (slipping of the joint which causes excessive wear and tear). Also, place your shoulders all the way back into the pads and keep your chest up. I would not recommend a squat below parallel with the top of your thighs on this machine.
