Band Deadlift

The band deadlift follows the same form as the standard barbell deadlift except by anchoring the bands under the bar, you create a variable resistance causing the weight to get heavier as it is lifted. One of the main advantages is by having lighter weight at the bottom of the motion the spine is under less stress when it is at its most vulnerable position. Also, the bands reinforce speed as the lifter must accelerate through the lift to beat the quickly rising band tension. In this example, we have used a deadlift / rack pull platform and anchored (2) medium weight Jumpstretch bands (looped together to form one) under the platform and around the bar ends. The result is a variable resistance of approximately 75 lbs from rack to lockout position.
