Pullover with Lying Leg Lift
The pullover is well complimented by the lying leg lift exercise. As you lower your legs toward the floor (with arms overhead), it is a natural tendency to create an arch in your lower back. This arch also sets the shoulders into proper position for the pullover. While the pullover is primarily for the lats, shoulders and triceps, it also works the serratus and to some degree upper abdominal muscles. The lying leg lift is primarily a hip flexor and lower ab exercise. Together these two exercises target both ends of the rectus abdominus. Take care to finish one motion before starting the next as it will not work as well if you create a rocking or momentum type motion.
