S.B. Bench Press in Power Rack



To get clients bench press to increase I look at how I can improve their weeknesses first. One of the best ways to increase stability, not just in the shoulders, but in the hips, abdominals and low back too, is to teach the barbell press on a s.b. To prevent injury, I would highly recommend doing this in a power rack or a squat cage with spotter bars set at height slightly higher than the chest. Technique is similar to the bench press except I have my clients pause each rep at the top and the bottom of the motion.
