Neutral Grip Pull Ups
Neutral grip pull ups can be performed with any width grip, but the hand placement is different from chin ups (done underhand grip) and pull ups (done with an overhand grip). The particular grip emphasizes the lower portion of the lat muscles in the back, along with the biceps and forearms. Width of the grip will determine whether it is the inner or outer portion of your back being used (close grip tends to work more of the rhomboids along with the lower lat, and wide tends to work both the outer portion and the lower portion of the lats). This grip is also one of the easiest on the shoulder girdle and I recommend it to clients that like to do pull ups, but suffer from shoulder issues.
