Training Philosophy

As a personal trainer, I believe my number one goal is to give my clients what they need. People initially come to me for many reasons. Some are athletes looking to better their performance, others recognize the best way to achieve results is to hire a professional to show them the way. I have a lot of clients that simply want an appointment to keep them accountable to their workouts and their health. When I look at how I can best help someone, I weigh their goals with their weaknesses. If they want to run faster, stretching muscles that are too tight may help them more than a squat. Counseling them on good nutrition may get their weight down faster than giving them harder and harder workouts. Whatever the reason, and whoever the client, I try and always look at the big picture. I get to know my people. Not just the name of the person signing my check, I try to learn as much about them as I can to find out what they need to be the best that they can be. I recognize the best way to get long term compliance is to help people set and achieve small goals, stay patient with them, push them to do one more rep when they can, and above all, keep them healthy.
